ABOUT THE FORGE
About PixelSmithery
PixelSmithery is a growing collection of practical image tools built for fast, private work directly in your browser. The goal is simple: make everyday image processing easier, clearer and more useful — without unnecessary complexity, accounts or uploads.
WHY PIXELSMITHERY
Useful tools, forged around real workflows
PixelSmithery started from a simple idea: many everyday image tasks should not require heavy software, complicated interfaces or unnecessary file transfers. The tools are designed around practical workflows — converting formats, preparing images for the web and handling multiple files quickly — while keeping the interface focused on the task itself. Each tool is built as a separate part of the PixelSmithery toolbox, with room to improve and expand as new workflows are added.
Built for the browser
Work where the files already are
Image processing happens directly in your browser whenever the selected tool supports local conversion. This keeps everyday conversion fast and reduces the need to send source images to an external processing service.
Practical controls, without clutter
Batch processing, quality controls, transparency handling, ZIP downloads and other options are added when they make the workflow genuinely more useful.
A toolbox that can expand
PixelSmithery is designed as a growing collection of focused tools rather than one oversized application. New utilities can be added without making existing tools harder to use.
THE NAME
Pixels meet the smithery
PixelSmithery combines two ideas: the digital precision of pixels and the craft of a smithery. A smith works with raw material, shapes it for a purpose and produces something useful. PixelSmithery applies the same idea to digital image work — take an image, choose the right tool and forge it into the format or result you need.
That is also why the toolbox, forge and anvil language appears throughout the site. It is part of the identity, but the tools themselves are always designed to remain clear and straightforward.

PRIVATE BY DESIGN
Your images should stay under your control
For the current PixelSmithery image converters, processing happens locally in the browser whenever the tool supports it. Source images remain on your device during conversion instead of being sent to a remote processing service. This approach can make everyday image work faster while giving you more control over the files you are working with.
FROM THE FORGE
The toolbox is only getting started
PixelSmithery currently focuses on practical image conversion, with additional image utilities planned as the toolbox grows. Every new tool should earn its place by solving a clear problem, staying simple to use and fitting naturally into the rest of the PixelSmithery workflow.
