Terms of Use
Last updated: August 18, 2026
Welcome to PixelSmithery.
These Terms of Use govern your access to and use of pixelsmithery.com and the digital tools provided through PixelSmithery.
By using PixelSmithery, you agree to these Terms.
1. About PixelSmithery
PixelSmithery provides practical browser-based and web-based tools for working with images and other digital content.
Some PixelSmithery tools process files entirely within your browser. Other present or future tools may use different technical methods where necessary.
2. Using PixelSmithery
You may use PixelSmithery tools for lawful personal or commercial purposes, subject to these Terms.
You are responsible for the files, information and content you choose to process.
You must not use PixelSmithery:
- for unlawful purposes;
- to infringe intellectual property, privacy or other legal rights;
- to intentionally interfere with, damage or disrupt the website or its infrastructure;
- to bypass technical, security, usage or resource limits;
- to automate abusive or excessive use of the service;
- to attempt unauthorised access to PixelSmithery systems or third-party systems.
3. Your files and content
You retain your rights in files and content that you process using PixelSmithery.
PixelSmithery does not acquire ownership of your files merely because you use a PixelSmithery tool.
You are responsible for ensuring that you have the legal right and necessary permissions to use and process any files selected for use with a PixelSmithery tool.
4. Local processing
Certain PixelSmithery tools are designed to process files locally in your browser.
Where local processing is stated, processing occurs primarily on your device and the relevant files are not intentionally uploaded to PixelSmithery servers for that processing.
Browser capabilities, device performance, available memory, image dimensions and file characteristics may affect processing performance.
Local processing may include image conversion, metadata inspection, file-structure analysis, provenance checks and, where available, optional browser-based machine-learning analysis. Some local features may require software libraries or model files to be downloaded to your browser before processing can begin.
5. Tool and resource limits
PixelSmithery may impose reasonable limits relating to file size, number of files, image dimensions, processing capacity, memory usage or other technical resources.
These limits are designed to maintain stability, security and a practical user experience.
Attempting to bypass or defeat such limits is not permitted.
6. Conversion and output
Digital conversion may change file size, transparency, metadata, compression characteristics, colour representation or image quality. Format conversion, editing, screenshots, re-encoding or other processing may alter, remove or make unavailable metadata, Content Credentials, C2PA-related provenance information or other information originally associated with a file.
PixelSmithery does not guarantee that every conversion will reduce file size or that every output will be suitable for every particular purpose.
Users should review converted files before relying on them for important, commercial, archival or production purposes.
Important files should always be appropriately backed up.
PixelSmithery may provide analytical tools, including the AI Image Checker, that inspect image metadata, file structure, provenance information, Content Credentials or C2PA-related information, and visual characteristics associated with AI-generated or AI-processed imagery.
Results produced by the AI Image Checker are provided for informational purposes. Some results may be based on technical provenance evidence, while others may involve probabilistic visual analysis performed by a machine-learning model. An AI-related score, visual similarity result, detected metadata signal or absence of detected provenance information does not by itself constitute definitive proof that an image was or was not generated, edited or processed using artificial intelligence.
PixelSmithery does not guarantee that the AI Image Checker can determine the origin, authenticity, authorship, editing history or specific generator of any image.
7. Availability and development
PixelSmithery is actively developed.
Tools, interfaces, processing methods, limits, functionality and availability may be modified, improved, temporarily suspended or discontinued.
PixelSmithery aims to provide reliable tools but does not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free availability.
8. Intellectual property
The PixelSmithery name, branding, original website design, interface elements, documentation and other original materials are protected by applicable intellectual property laws.
Using PixelSmithery does not transfer ownership of PixelSmithery intellectual property to you.
Third-party trademarks, software and other materials remain the property of their respective owners.
9. Third-party services and links
PixelSmithery may use or link to third-party websites, platforms, software or technical services.
Some PixelSmithery tools may rely on third-party software libraries, content delivery services or machine-learning model files that are loaded into your browser. The use of these technical resources does not transfer ownership of files you select for processing to those third parties.
PixelSmithery is not responsible for the availability, content, security or practices of independent third-party services.
10. No professional advice
PixelSmithery provides technical utilities and general informational content.
Information available through PixelSmithery does not constitute legal, financial, medical or other regulated professional advice.
Results produced by image-analysis tools, including the AI Image Checker, should not be treated as forensic certification, authentication, expert testimony or a professional determination of image origin, authorship or authenticity. You should not rely on such results as the sole basis for legal, evidentiary, employment, academic, journalistic, moderation or other consequential decisions.
11. Disclaimer
PixelSmithery and its tools are provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis to the extent permitted by applicable law.
While reasonable efforts are made to provide reliable and accurate tools, PixelSmithery does not guarantee that every tool will be uninterrupted, error-free or suitable for every particular use.
12. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, PixelSmithery will not be liable for indirect, incidental, consequential or similar losses resulting from the use of, or inability to use, the website or its tools.
You are responsible for maintaining appropriate copies and backups of important files before processing them.
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability where such exclusion or limitation is prohibited by applicable law.
13. Restriction of access
PixelSmithery may restrict or suspend access to the website or particular functionality where reasonably necessary to protect users, the service, infrastructure, security or legal rights.
14. Changes to these Terms
PixelSmithery may update these Terms as the website and its tools develop.
When changes are made, the “Last updated” date at the top of this page will be revised.
Continued use of PixelSmithery after revised Terms become effective constitutes acceptance of those revised Terms to the extent permitted by applicable law.
