PixelSmithery is built around a simple principle: digital tools should collect, transmit and retain only the information they actually need.
This Privacy Policy explains how information is handled when you visit pixelsmithery.com and use PixelSmithery tools.
1. Who operates PixelSmithery
PixelSmithery operates the website available at pixelsmithery.com and determines how website-level personal data described in this Privacy Policy is processed.

2. Browser-first processing
PixelSmithery is designed around browser-first processing wherever practical.
When a PixelSmithery tool states that processing happens locally or in your browser, the files you select are processed on your device rather than being intentionally uploaded to PixelSmithery servers for that processing.
Current PixelSmithery image converters, including PNG to JPG, JPG & PNG to WebP, WebP to JPG/PNG, and HEIC/HEIF to JPG & PNG, perform image conversion locally in your browser. The AI Image Checker also performs supported provenance, metadata, file-structure and optional visual analysis locally in the browser. Source images and generated output files are not intentionally uploaded to or stored on PixelSmithery servers as part of these local processing workflows.
Future tools may use different processing methods where technically necessary. If a tool requires files or other information to leave your device, the relevant tool will explain this clearly.
3. Technical information processed when you visit the website
Like most websites, PixelSmithery and the infrastructure used to operate it may process limited technical information necessary to deliver, secure and maintain the website.
This may include:
- IP address;
- browser and device information;
- requested pages and resources;
- date and time of requests;
- technical, performance and security logs.
This information may be processed for website operation, security, abuse prevention, troubleshooting and performance monitoring.
4. Files processed with PixelSmithery tools
PixelSmithery does not claim ownership of files that you process using its tools.
Files used with browser-based tools remain on your device unless a particular tool clearly states otherwise.
Some PixelSmithery tools may inspect information contained within an image file, including metadata, file structure, Content Credentials or C2PA-related provenance information, and visual characteristics. When the AI Image Checker uses optional local visual analysis, that analysis is performed in the browser and the selected image is not intentionally uploaded to PixelSmithery servers for analysis.
You are responsible for ensuring that you have the necessary rights and permissions to use and process any files selected for use with a PixelSmithery tool.
5. Cookies and browser storage
PixelSmithery may use cookies, local storage or similar browser technologies where they are necessary for website functionality, security, language preferences and other technical purposes.
PixelSmithery currently uses Google Analytics 4 (GA4) to understand website usage and selected interactions with PixelSmithery tools. Google Analytics may use cookies or similar technologies and may process information such as page visits, interaction events, browser and device information, IP-derived approximate geographic information and technical performance data.
PixelSmithery may display advertising provided through Google AdSense. Third-party vendors, including Google, may place and read cookies on your browser or use web beacons, IP addresses and similar technologies to collect information as a result of advertising being served on PixelSmithery.
Google’s use of advertising cookies enables Google and its partners to serve advertisements based on visits to PixelSmithery and other websites on the Internet. Depending on applicable law, available consent choices and configured advertising settings, advertisements may be personalised, non-personalised, contextual or limited.
Users can manage or opt out of personalised advertising through Google Ads Settings. Users may also opt out of some third-party vendors’ use of cookies for personalised advertising by visiting YourAdChoices, where available.
Where consent is legally required for analytics, advertising or other optional technologies, those technologies are subject to appropriate consent controls. Users may be given options to accept, reject or manage the use of their data and may withdraw or revise their choices through the privacy controls made available on PixelSmithery.
PixelSmithery does not intentionally send image files selected for local processing, image contents, converted output files or AI Image Checker analysis results to Google Analytics, Google AdSense or advertising partners.
6. Third-party services
PixelSmithery currently uses Google Analytics 4 to measure website traffic and selected interactions with the website and its tools. PixelSmithery may also use Google AdSense to display and measure advertising. These services are provided by Google and are subject to Google’s applicable terms, privacy documentation and the settings configured for PixelSmithery.
When Google Analytics or Google AdSense is used, Google may process information such as IP addresses, browser and device information, page visits, advertising identifiers, cookie information, approximate geographic information and interactions with website content or advertisements. More information about how Google processes information from websites and applications that use its services is available in Google’s Privacy & Terms documentation.
Google AdSense may work with other authorised third-party vendors and advertising technology providers. These providers may use cookies or similar technologies to serve, personalise and measure advertisements, subject to applicable law and the user’s consent choices. Information about relevant providers may be made available through PixelSmithery’s consent interface and Google’s advertising controls.
Some browser-based PixelSmithery features may also load software libraries, machine-learning model files or other technical resources from third-party content delivery or model-hosting services. When these resources are requested, those providers may receive standard network request information such as an IP address, browser information and the requested resource. Images selected for local processing are not intentionally sent to those providers merely for local image conversion or analysis.
If additional third-party services are introduced that materially change how personal data is processed, this Privacy Policy will be updated.
7. Advertising
PixelSmithery may use Google AdSense to display advertising and help support the continued availability and development of its free browser-based tools.
Third-party vendors, including Google, may use cookies, local storage, web beacons, IP addresses or similar technologies to serve and measure advertisements on PixelSmithery. Advertising may be based on the content of the page, general information about a user’s browser or device, previous visits to PixelSmithery or other websites, and consent choices where applicable.
Personalised advertising is used only where permitted by applicable law and the relevant consent or advertising settings. Where personalised advertising is unavailable, not permitted or not accepted by the user, Google may serve non-personalised, contextual or limited advertisements.
Users can manage personalised advertising through Google Ads Settings and may manage or withdraw consent through the privacy controls made available on PixelSmithery.
Advertising does not change the browser-first processing model of PixelSmithery tools. Image files selected for local conversion or analysis are not intentionally uploaded to PixelSmithery, Google or advertising partners merely for advertising purposes.
8. Data retention
PixelSmithery seeks to retain personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purpose for which it is processed, including website operation, security, troubleshooting and compliance with applicable legal obligations.
Images and converted files processed locally in the browser, as well as local AI Image Checker analysis results, are not retained by PixelSmithery as part of those local processing workflows.
Website analytics data may be retained by Google Analytics according to the retention settings configured for the PixelSmithery GA4 property and Google’s applicable data-handling terms.
9. Your privacy rights
Depending on your location and applicable law, you may have rights concerning your personal data.
These may include rights to request access to personal data, correction of inaccurate information, deletion, restriction of certain processing, objection to certain processing, or data portability where applicable.

However, no website, network, browser, device or method of electronic processing can be guaranteed to be completely secure.
